Jesus Dome fire must be investigated - Sanco

Durban – Authorities should investigate the fire that ripped a large portion of the Durban Christian Centre (DCC) Jesus Dome, the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) said on Tuesday.
The church which is on the N3 in Durban went up in flames on Tuesday evening; however it has since been extinguished.
"We are concerned when places of worship experience such incidents. We sympathies with the church for the damage and hope that the destruction is not a deliberate act," said spokesperson Jabu Mahlangu.
Mahlangu also added that law enforcement agencies should not undermine terror attack warnings which they received from America, Britain and Australia.
"Precautions have to be taken to neutralise any potential threats and the public assured that nothing is being taken for granted."
EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said they were monitoring the situation in case they received calls from residents in the area suffering from breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation.
No injuries have been reported.
