Fuel scarcity set to hit Bayelsa, Rivers.

The threat of fuel scarcity looms over Bayelsa and Rivers State as the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has ordered staff at filling stations to shut down operations and strike in the two states.NUPENG members within the two states are currently protesting the refusal of firms to abide by NUPENG's policy.
Hilong Engineering Nigeria Limited, Uniterm Nigeria Limited, Specialist Drilling Fluid Nigeria Limited and Fudeo Nigeria Limited have been fingered to their failure to abide by rules issued by NUPENG.
Charles Eleto, Acting Zonal Chairman of NUPENG in Port Harcourt, has stated that no filling stations will be spared in the strike.
"In lieu of NUPENG’s ongoing strike in Rivers and Bayelsa states, all petrol station workers in these two states are hereby informed of the strike and they should be part of it as a solidarity. Injury to one is injury to all. In a situation where anyone is found wanting, the union will sanction them," Eleto is quoted as saying.
The organization has since pleaded with Governors from the two states to urge companies to stop intimidating workers and recognize NUPENG as a union
